Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan Approved by Examiner
Chaddesley Corbett could make history later this year as the parish looks set to become the first in Worcestershire to take part in a Neighbourhood Plan referendum. Chaddesley Corbett Parish residents, who are on the register of electors, would be asked to vote on whether they wish the Plan to come into force and be used by the Council in determining planning applications.
Within the context of the Green Belt which washes over the Parish, the Chaddesley Corbett Neighbourhood Plan provides specific details on the type of housing that can be built within the Parish and sets out policies to guide the design of development and retain the characteristics of the Parish. It allocates the former School site in the village centre for a mix of uses including housing to meet local needs, open space and an extension to the burial ground. It also safeguards the old Grammar School building for community uses.
Their plan was independently examined in June this year and the examiner recommended that subject to some modifications the plan should proceed to referendum.
